Melody is very much her own horse. Foaled in 1994, she got her chance when arriving in Temora at the home
of Glen Hammond and Julia Wynn. A horse with the personality of Effie, Melody went into training and onto a diet. Her brief show career saw a string of Championships and Supremes. In her 6 appearances in the ring Melody has only come home with one Reserve, to her half sister, Portia Benay, who went on to Supreme on the day.
When plans for her to begin an endurance career were shelved due to a series of accidents to her riders, Melody was sent to Torryburn Tahl (Abu Jaask ex Torryburn Kalila) in October for her first foal. While at stud she sustained a severe fetlock injury.
On 28th August, 2003, Melody severed he digital extensor tendon in a paddock accident. With intensive veterinary treatment, she leads a healthy, active life as a brood mare, but Melody is now unable to be ridden or driven and is retired permenantly to stud.
Melody gave birth to a stunning bay colt, Nashama Ben Tahl (Pend) on 19/10/2003. We believe Nashama is so correct, and athletic we are keeping Nashama as our very first stallion.
Her second foal, Nashama Aslaan, is of the same quality and was born on the 14th October 2005. Aslaan is available for purchase by the right human.
